CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PURCHASE OF THE MOST ADVANCED MINI QUAD CDI AVAILABLE.

YOUR NEW CDI IS EQUIPPED WITH AN EXTERNAL TIMING CURVE. THE DIAL LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM CORNER CAN B TURNED TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE TIMING CURVE. TURNING THE DIAL COUNTER CLOCKWISE WILL ADVANCE THE TIMING AND CLOCKWISE WILL RETARD THE TIMING. STANDARD SETTING OF DIAL IS 3/4 ADVANCED(3/4 COUNTER CLOCKWISE). HOWEVER SOME ENGINES WILL PREFER TO HAVE DIAL SET AT FULL ADVANCE, YOU MAY EXPERIMENT WHAT WORKS BEST YOU'RE YOUR ENGINE MODIFICATIONS.

NOTE: IF STATOR HAS BEEN ALTERED AND ADVANCED YOU CAN NOT RUN FULL ADVANCE ON CDI.

STANDARD INSTALLATION: REMOVE OLD CDI AND COIL. PLUG NEW CDI IN THE EXISTING WIRES WHERE YOU HAVE REMOVED THE OLD CDI. IN THE EVENT YOUR ATV IS EQUIPPED WITH A TETHER CORD FROM THE FACTORY ALL WIRES SHOULD PLUG IN CORRECTLY AND TETHER CORD SHOULD WORK CORRECTLY. HOWEVER IF YOU INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET TETHER CORD ODDS ARE IT IS A CLOSED SYSTEM TETHER, WHICH MEANS WHEN PULLINGTHE TETHER CORD MAKES CONTINUITY, GROUNDING OUT AN ACTIVE WIRE CARRYING VOLTIGE. IN THE EVENT YOUR TETHER CORD MAKES CONTINUITY WITH THE TETHER CORD PULLED YOU WILL NEED TO ALTER THE WIRING. THE NEGATIVE END OF THE TETHER CORD WILL STILL GO TO GROUND AND THE OPPOSITE WIRE FROM THE TETHER WILL TIE IN TO THE BLACK/RED WIRE COMING FROM THE STATOR. DO NOT CUT THE BLACK/RED WIRE, SPLICE IN TO THE WIRE TO BE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BLACK/RED.

INSTALLATION WITH NO WIRE HARNESS: CDI CAN BE INSTALLED WITH NO WIRE HARNESS AS LONG AS THERE IS A TETHER CORD INSTALLED TO SHUT THE ATV OFF. WITH NO OTHER WIRES EXISTING PLUG BLACK/RED WIRES FROM STATOR TO MATCHING COLOR ON CDI. PLUG WHITE/RED WIRES TO MATCHING WIRES ON CDI. BLACK/WHITE WIRE WILL NEED TO BE GROUNDED. REMOVE BULLET CONNECTOR AND ADD EYELET. TAKE THE TWO PRONG CONNECTOR WITH ORANGE/BLACK WIRE AND CUT OFF THE PLASTIC CONNECTOR. BLACK WIRE WILL CONNECT TO GROUND. ORANGE WIRE DOES NOT NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO ANYTHING.TETHER CORD NEGATIVE SIDE WILL BE GROUNDEDAND OPPOSITE SIDE WILL BE SPLICED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BLACK/RED WIRE FROM CDI OR STATOR.

NOTE: ETON AND FEW OTHER ATVS USE A BLUE YELLOW COLORED WIRE INSTEAD OF WHITE/RED, IF YOUR ATV DOES NOT HAVE A WHITE/RED WIRE PRESENT LOOK FOR THE BLUE/YELLOW INSTEAD.
