Hunter Skladzien #05

Hunter Skladzien #05
Name: Hunter Skladzien

Age: 10

Home: Wadsworth, OH

Hunter has been riding ATV’s since he was 4 years old. Unlike most young riders he didn’t start riding in the woods or trails. He grew up on the motocross track. Hunter is Tom Skladzien’s son whom owns ATV Four Play. He has traveled the United States from a very young age watching, riding and racing and learning the ethics of the track.

His first ATV race was in 2006 at Summit Indoors in Akron, Ohio on a poorly modified Polaris 50cc. He won his first moto. For the second moto we were protested by the other parents. Not for cheating with a faster engine. But for him being a “gifted rider”. The CRA organization declined their protest and we raced the second moto and won that one too. We decided not to make waves with the other parents and moved him up to the 70cc Jr. mini quad class. So he had a very short “beginner class” tenure.

Hunter is a very small bodied kid. But has more heart in racing than I have seen in the bigger rider’s I have sponsored over the years of racing.

Hunter suffered a broken wrist while racing at Walnut, Illinois. He was running in the 3 position until the accident. He did not stop riding and still finished 5th with a broken arm. This clearly hurt our quest for the championship. However, he did race two National events with his cast. We have learned a lot in the 2009 season and feel we will make a better showing in 2010.
